Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. After relocating to Oxfordshire when she was five, she enrolled in The Dragon School. Emma was inspired to become an actor at age six. Over the course of several years she was enrolled in the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing as well as dancing, and also acting. Through a school play as well as an Stagecoach show, she was the lead at the age 10 and performed. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000), the movie version from J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was cast for very first time back in the year 1999. Emma was discovered by agents through the recommendation of her Oxford teacher. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her outstanding performance. In the following days, Emma was shortlisted for five awards for her role in the film winning her the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress Young in an feature Film.
